As part of its drive to reduce its carbon footprint, College has made the switch to using the B20 Biotherm biofuel blend to power its heating system.
Supplied and manufactured by Southern Biofuels, the biofuel blend 鈥� specifically designed for boilers, furnaces and central heating units 鈥� is made by blending recycled, refined cooking oil with mineral fuel. College has been trialling the blend over the past year and Maintenance Manager Mike Tovey says he is pleased to have made the switch.
鈥淲e鈥檝e run a long trial period and been very happy so far. There鈥檚 been no negative impact on College plant, it鈥檚 substantially more cost effective, manufactured in 国产午夜福church, and fits well with our intention to be more energy efficient and environmentally conscious.鈥�
